What’s on?
10.30am – Intro & welcome. View largest pohutukawa on mainland NZ and 50,000 macadamia plant nursery 11.00am – Power Point presentation of Industry history, facts & figures, dropping variety research and NZ Macadamia Industry Growth Strategy (2018-2029), plus sample range of products.
12.00pm – View the 2ha dropping variety trial block & nursery and the 9ha certified organic orchard with 12, 20, 25 & 30 year-old trees of the best producing varieties planted on flat and sloping contours and the new 3ha block in early stage of planting.
1.00pm – Lunch (BYO), drinks supplied and macadamia samples – Q&A time. 1.30pm-2.00pm – for Commercial Growers; view harvesters, de-husker, composting bins, advice on variety choice, orchard planning and order process.
What products are available on the day?
Range of delicious macadamia products (Shop) discounted if pre-ordered and collected at the Field Day plus:
- $5/bag of fresh nut in husk, self-harvested at Field Day (2kg bags) in Harvest season only.
What do I need to do to attend?
- Register on the form below – you will be emailed a ‘Welcome Pack’ within 24 hours of registering.
- If you’re interested in growing commercially, please also complete and submit the ‘Base Info Form‘
- Bring a plan of your block if applicable, camera, notebook, walking shoes, hat, water bottle.
